Aframax

Aframax is a method of rating tankers based upon the Average Freight Rate Assessment. Aframax tankers are typically used in the Black Sea, North Sea, Caribbean Sea, China Sea, and the Mediterranean Sea.

Principal Dimensions

  • An Aframax ship is an oil tanker between 80,000 than 120,000 metric tons deadweight DWT
  • Cargo capacity of between 70,000 and 100,000 metric tonnes of crude oil
