Asymmetrical Roll

Asymmetrical roll is when a vessel lists more to one side than the other when rolling. Asymmetrical roll can be induced by free-surface effect, cargo loading or shift, windage, or heeling moments such as from lifting devices. While some asymmetrical roll is common, a large asymmetrical roll endangers the vessel to capsizing.
