Small Angle Stability

Small-angle stability is the evaluation of stability criteria at angles of heel below 10 degrees. Within this range, the vessel can be thought of rotating about it's metacentric height. Changes in waterplane are considered as equivalent between port and starboard; i.e., bouyancy lost by the lee side of the vessel are taken as equal to the bouyancy gained on the heeled side.
