North Amethyst is an oilfield development project off the coast of Newfoundland, Canada. North Amethyst is a satellite field of White Rose, itself a part of the Jeanne D'Arc basin. North Amethyst operations are being conducted by Husky Energy (68.875% stake), with Petro-Canada (26.125%) and the Newfoundland government (5%) also holding stakes. Glory hole dredging began in 2007, with 11 wells planned for tie-back into White Rose. Recoverable reserves are estimated at 77 million barrels. First oil is expected by the end of 2009.
