Offsets Drawing

The offsets drawing is intended to convey additional shape definition which is not easily captured by the table of offsets, and is read in conjunction with the lines plan.

The offsets drawing contains similar views to the linesplan; a bodyplan, profile view, and plan view. Common dimensions include longitudinal distances from stations to the stem/stern at varying waterlines (to capture these distances on a lines plan would require excessive numbers of stations). Similarly, the location of the ends of poop decks or fo'c'sle decks, which may not align on stations, are given. Transom sterns may also be defined on this drawing.
