RMS Lusitania

The RMS Lusitania was an ocean liner of the Cunard line, built by John Brown & Company. The ship was amongst the first to be fitted with Parsons turbines. Notably, the ship was fitted with double walls, with the wings used to carry coal. These wing areas also hastened her sinking; when struck by a torpedo, the Lusitania quickly developed a major list which hampered the lowering of lifeboats (Opposingly, the RMS Titanic might have been saved had it posessed similar wing divisions, given the shallow depth of puncture and length of damage to that ship from an iceberg impact).
