Resilient Mounts

Resilient mounts are mounting devices which allow a limited range of motion between their top and bottom faces through a compressive element, such as hard rubber, neoprene, or springs. The loading and unloading of the compressible layer converts the energy of vibration (i.e., acoustical noise) into heat, reducing structural-borne noise paths for items such as reciprocating machinery. In noise-critical applications, resilient mounts are one way to reduce noise, and may be used even on small pieces of equipment (as small as a few horsepower).
