International Convention for the Safety of Life At Sea (SOLAS)

The International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) is a treaty designed to ensure the safety of passenger and crew on vessels. The initial iteration was wrote in response to the sinking of the RMS Titanic and first published in 1914. The most recent version is the 1974 ratification, although a number of ammendments have been passed since.
