St. John's Harbour is a protected port on the Eastern seaboard of Canada. The harbour services St. John's, the capital city of the province of Newfoundland. St. John's proximity to the Newfoundland offshore is a major traffic contributor.
The harbour is accessed through a narrow opening between the South Side Hills and Signal Hill. The narrow opening and bluffs provide near complete protection from the North Atlantic, however large ships must use facilities in nearby Conception Bay or Bay Bulls.
