Tender

A vessel is considered tender when the metacentric height is small enough that it results in uncomfortably slow righting response when induced to roll. Tender vessels feel unstable, with long roll periods and potentially large angles of roll which may be considered uncomfortable for passengers and crew. Tender vessels may take large enough angles of roll to cause cargo to shift. Passengers in particular may lack confidence in the vessel. There is a danger of injury from falls resulting from large roll angles.
