Costa Concordia

The Costa Concordia is a cruise ship operated by Costa Cruises. At the time of her build she was the largest Italian cruise ship, as well as the largest built in Italy.

Grounding Incident

January 13, 2012, a 165 ft long gash was ripped in the hull of the vessel when it was grounded off Italys Isola del Giglio. Many passengers were evacuated by life boat, others by helicopter, and a few jumped into the water, in an effort to abandon ship. As a result of the collision 3 passengers were confirmed dead, and 7 injured.
